Talk – «The role of Spain in the Sahel»
Talk — Spain's role in the Sahel within the framework of the EU – AU relationship at Casa África, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
The Spanish Federal Council of the European Movement (CEFEME) is one of the 39 sections that make up the European Movement International. Established in February 1949, it developed at that time and from exile an alternative policy that saw European unity as the way to end the dictatorship, re-establish democracy in Spain, and promote its economic and social development.
With its activities legalized in Spain since 1978, CEFEME directs its actions, on the one hand, to promote the development of a European identity and common values in Spanish society, and on the other, to enable Spain to be a driving force in the process of European construction among institutions, political forces, and socioeconomic organizations.
“Spain's role in the Sahel within the framework of the European Union – African Union relationship” is a CEFEME project composed of two central activities: On the one hand, the development of a seminar on the EU-Spain-African Union relationship in the context of the Sahel, which has the collaboration of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation and will take place at Casa África on April 8 and 9, 2026. And on the other, the launch of a publication with the contributions made in the context of said seminar.
