CANARIAS DOCUMENTAL. INTERNATIONAL FILM SHOWCASE
Documentary Cinema has infinite dimensions. It is an incomparable instrument for creating community, fostering solidarity and empathy. It allows approaching remote and close realities, and discovering the ways of looking and narrating of those who direct them.
Documentary Cinema connects with who we are, with our emotions, with the emotions of other people, other stories, other landscapes, other problems and other proposals. It is the cinema of identities.
“Canarias Documental” contributes to the positioning of Gran Canaria and to the reflection on the identity of the Archipelago, it is a meeting place for all filmmakers and viewers of our documentary cinema. With the audience at its center.
It is a non-competitive Showcase, a bridge for communion between protagonists and spectators, built by the production teams. A place of dialogue, knowledge, understanding and discovery. An always enriching experience, which cannot lose its purpose in a competition.
