Eduardo Ulrich is a correspondent for media outlets sympathetic to Latin American dictatorships. During his stay in Argentina in 1978, he is tempted by the government to spy on an exiled Brazilian doctor. But the reports he produces are imprecise. This causes the services to kidnap those Ulrich was supposed to spy on and then commission him to write a chronicle that covers up the disappearances.
