Concert – «60 years of SOUL in the Atlantic»

Concert — 60 years of SOUL in the Atlantic in the Plaza de Santa Ana, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

60 years ago, the legendary group Los Canarios, led by Teddy Bautista, embarked on a decisive journey to discover the sounds of American soul. Upon their return, their musical transformation inspired generations and marked the birth of a scene that in the Canary Islands had references such as Toba's La Sugar Hill Band and, later, the City Dock Band, heir to that legacy to this day.

This evening brings together two essential figures from that history —Toba and Teddy Bautista— in a concert featuring the City Dock Band and the most awarded and international Canary voice of soul: Cristina Ramos. Together they will revisit great classics of the genre and celebrate the arrival of these sounds to the archipelago through its port, where a musical connection began that is still alive.
