Dance — Dance workshop with Paula Quintana in the Humanities Classroom Building Gymnasium, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
The University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria collaborates with the Guiniguada Theater in organizing the dance workshop taught by Paula Quintana under the title LABORATORY_ Excavation and Body in Trance / movement and artistic creation.
The ULPGC will host this workshop, offered within the framework of the 'Bailar los campus' (Dancing the Campuses) project, promoted by the University in collaboration with the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, Peso Producciones, and Teatro Guiniguada, with the aim of disrupting university life, providing new ways to manifest movement in its daily routine.

Workshop description
Research and artistic creation laboratory for body and movement, based on Paula Quintana's processes and works. It is inspired by collective dance sessions and rituals and improvisation techniques to expand states of consciousness and dialogue with the different planes that cross the body: the purely physical and dynamic, inheritances, thoughts, emotions... and integrate them into a process of artistic creation both individually and collectively.
Paula Quintana
Creator, performer. Her work is based on a personal language that combines disciplines to create communication with the spectator on different levels, intellectual and visceral, in a firm commitment to the time we live in and the search for genuine forms for each creation.
Born in Tenerife, she trained in theater, classical, contemporary, and flamenco dance. After graduating in Dramatic Arts, she moved to Madrid to continue her training, working on various audiovisual, theater, and dance productions, both within and outside Spain.
In 2019, a trilogy on the elevation of bodies began with Las Alegrías (2019), Replika Award for Best Performer for Paula Quintana, 4 nominations for the Max Awards 2020, Teatros del Canal Madrid, PAMS Seoul fair (South Korea), Tanzmesse International Fair in Düsseldorf, Coronet Theater in London, University of Navarra Museum, among others. The trilogy continues with LA CARNE (2020) Teatro Español de Madrid, Group of World Heritage Cities of Spain, Auditorio de Tenerife, Centro Párraga de Murcia and ART for CHANGE program by Fund. LaCAIXA. The series concludes with HUERTO (2023) with a multidisciplinary team made up of artists and scientific and new technology researchers. Resident in Graner, BCn, BAD Bilbao, Teatre Pcal. de Palma, Teatro Cuyás.
The scenic production has been developed in parallel with significant transdisciplinary research and cultural mediation activity, developing projects for educational centers and vulnerable groups in collaboration with Governments, Cabildos, and Institutions. She creates choreographies for artists and festivals both within and outside Spain.
