Documentary — «The Score of the Cosmos» by MMF at the Guiniguada Theater, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

The Teide Observatory, part of the Canary Islands Institute of Astrophysics, hosts an experiment that seeks to translate the rhythms and vibrations of the cosmos into music. With the voice and vision of electronic music pioneer Suzanne Ciani, the film guides us from Pythagoras's “music of the spheres” and Kepler's “universal symphony,” to the musical compositions of Uranus's discoverer, William Herschel, and, at the observatory itself, the ideas of astrophysicist John Beckman.
Suzanne Ciani, mother of electronic music, travels to the Canary Islands Institute of Astrophysics with the aim of investigating this unprecedented research in Science: “The Music of the Galaxies.”.
This pioneering discovery reveals that spiral galaxies rotate with the same rhythmic pattern and that their different galactic disks spin in harmony, musically connected to each other, just like the instruments of an orchestra.
With the help of musicians from different continents, Ciani sets out to compose the score of the cosmos in an unprecedented dialogue between music and astronomy. In parallel, great experimental musicians from different continents transform planetary orbits, stellar fluctuations, and galactic rotations into an authentic space opera. Beyond aesthetic fascination, their interpretations open up questions about how we listen to and understand the universe.
