South West Satellite Meeting of Culture Action Europe (CAE) in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

The form to participate in the South West Satellite Meeting of Culture Action Europe (CAE) in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is now open. This meeting brings together CAE members from Southwest European countries —Italy, Malta, Portugal, and Spain— and opens its participation to local cultural agents who wish to be part of the dialogue.

Cultural individuals and organizations belonging to CAE, or who wish to learn about its work and political influence at a European level, are invited to network and contribute their voice to debates on the future of cultural policies.

The program for Tuesday, April 21, includes:

• 09:00-10:15h. Stop 1 and 2. Welcome, Opening. What is Culture Action Europe and why are we here? – Plaza Santa Ana and Casas Consistoriales.
  – Welcome to the Satellite Meeting.
  – General presentation of the meeting.
  – Political objectives of the satellite.
  – Introduction to the Walk & Talk methodology.
  – Presentation of Culture Action Europe.
  – Opening cultural activation by Cristina Mahelo: Culture, tradition, and critical youth.
• 10:30-12h – Stop 3. Brief interventions from the South West hubs. Patio de las Culturas.
  – National challenges. Structural Tensions. Transformative proposals.
• 12-12:30h – Break Stop – Local Coffee & Networking.
  – Participatory performance: Root folklore. Goat drum.
• 12:45-14h – Stop 4. Community Culture. Suárez Naranjo Civic Center.
  – Performance by Koset. Performance and Dance.
• 14-15:30h – Lunch Break.
• 15:45-18:30h – Stop 5. Collective poster review. Faro Room / La Isleta Workshop.
  – Landing the compass.
  – Performance by Fajardo.
  – Closing.

Wednesday, April 22:

• 09:30 to 14h – Facilitated space for collective synthesis. Faro Room.
  – Synthesis and closing.
• 14h – Official closing with optional meal.
• 16:30 to 18:30h – Training: Political advocacy in the European sphere.
• 19:00 to 22:30h – Celebration of Culture. CAE Satellite off – Faro Room.
  – Cultural activities, concerts and informal gathering – free participation.
