Festivities – Almond Blossom in Tejeda 7 February

Program of the Almond Blossom Festival in Tejeda, Gran Canaria, on February 7:

TOURIST DAY

Ten editions have now been dedicated to the people who visit us from anywhere in the world and who want to learn about the Canarian culture and identity concentrated in our town.
The traditional craft and local product stalls will fill the streets with color and flavor from 10 in the morning.
As always, the municipality's associations will offer dishes from our rich gastronomy for everyone's delight:

• El Juncal: Pork rinds, wrinkled potatoes, carnival tortillas and local wine.
• Ayacata: Chickpea stew, watercress stew, wrinkled potatoes with mojo, rice pudding and frangollo
• La Degollada: Rancho, wrinkled potatoes and escaldón.
• El Carrizal: Roasted sardines, wrinkled potatoes, chocolate and cake.
• La Solana: Sancocho, pella and fried pork.
• El Chorrillo: Fist bread, roasted leg, Canarian rancho and wrinkled potatoes with mojo.
• El Toscón: Carnival tortillas, chocolate, chickpea stew and wrinkled potatoes.
• Timagada: Gofio escaldón and wrinkled potatoes.
• Cáritas: Orange liqueur, sweet potato pastries and angel hair with almonds, bienmesabe, almond cake and buns.
• Acuvir: Chicken broth, pork meat and wrinkled potatoes.

DURING THE DAY WE WILL HAVE: Exhibitions of Canarian wrestling, shepherd's jump, stick game and display of traditional crafts: threshing, milking, milk tasting and cheese making among others.

Music in the streets will be provided by the following groups: Parranda La Sebada (Fuerteventura), Parranda Amigos de Tejeda, Parranda de Global, Los Chanos, A.F. Harimaguada and Parranda P’alante.

III QUICK PAINTING CONTEST
The theme will be Tejeda, its festivities, and its surroundings.
Registration must be done during the week of the festivities using the specific form. Maximum 15 people.
Cash prizes will be awarded to the three best paintings and the best local one. The complete rules of the contest will be published on the municipal website (tejeda.eu).
The announcement of the winners will be on the same day at 14:00 in the Plaza – Town Hall Viewpoint.
