Festivities – Almond Blossom in Tejeda 8 February

Program of the Almond Blossom Festival in Tejeda, Gran Canaria, February 8:

Almond Sunday, since 1970, a unique day with more than half a century of history, which year after year continues to keep alive the idiosyncrasy of our land, from music to crafts, passing through gastronomy, dance or games and sports.

As on Saturday, the associations of our municipality will offer typical products and dishes for tasting:

• El Espinillo: Carnival tortillas and rice pudding.
• La Culata: Meat with wrinkled potatoes, meat and cheese sandwiches and Teror chorizo.
• El Toscón: Carnival tortillas, chocolate, pork stew and wrinkled potatoes.
• Cáritas: Orange liqueur, sweet potato pastries and angel hair with almonds, bienmesabe, almond cake and buns.
• El Carrizal: Roasted sardines, wrinkled potatoes, chocolate and cake.
• Ayacata: Chickpea stew, watercress soup, wrinkled potatoes with mojo, rice pudding and frangollo.
• La Solana: Sancocho, pella and fried pork.
• El Chorrillo: Fist bread, roasted leg, Canarian rancho and wrinkled potatoes with mojo.
• El Juncal: Pork rinds, wrinkled potatoes, carnival tortillas and local wine.
• Timagada: Gofio escaldón and wrinkled potatoes.

DURING THE DAY WE WILL HAVE: Canarian wrestling exhibitions, shepherd's jump, stick game, threshing, milking, milk tasting and cheese making.
Street music will be provided by the following groups: Parranda del Botellín, Los Cebolleros, Los Paperos de Valleseco, A.F. Taror and Los Labradores de Valleseco.
