Festivities – San Matías Artenara

Program of the San Matías Festivities in Artenara, Gran Canaria, February 22:

• 11:30 a.m. In the plenary hall of the Town Hall, reception of Authorities.

• 12:00 h. In the parish church of San Matías, solemn religious service in honor of the Patron Saint Matías.

• 13:00 h. Procession with the image of the apostle Saint Matías along the traditional route, accompanied by the «Firgas Youth Music Band». In La Atalaya, blessing of the fields and poetic prayer to the Patron Saint of the Pine Forests.

• 13:30 h. In the Cronista José Antonio Luján Henríquez Cultural Center, reading of the short proclamation of the pine forests by Mr. Antonio Morales Méndez, President of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria.

  • Following this, tribute act in recognition of the environmental work carried out by the following people:

• 3:00 p.m. Toast for the attendees, in the Alameda Mayor Severiano Luján Cabrera, and dance by the musical group «Buena Onda».
