Inauguration – Anglocanarian International Hall
Inauguration of the Anglocanarian International Hall at the Obelisco Campus of ULPGC, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
The Anglocanarian International Hall is born from the legacy of Canarian footprints in the United Kingdom and the United States, and aims to promote new alliances in the academic and cultural spheres with other Anglophone countries, integrating the history and strategic position of the Canary Islands as a meeting point between continents and cultures. It seeks to deepen the relationships between Anglophone countries and the Canary Islands throughout history, as well as in the present, expanding its connections with the programming of various training, outreach, and collaboration agreements.
The Hall will be inaugurated on December 2, at 6:00 p.m., in the Assembly Hall of the Humanities Building (Obelisco Campus), in an event that will feature the lecture «The Miller Swanston family in the Canary Islands: why, when and how the miller family came from Scotland to the Canaries», by William F. Miller.
