Opening – Exhibition: Emergent Properties

Opening of the Exhibition «Emergent Properties» by Fernando Miñarro Mena at the ULPGC Art Gallery, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

Emergent Properties explores how, from the interaction between matter, energy, and time, structures endowed with new qualities irreducible to their parts emerge. Inspired by systems theory and the sciences of complexity, Fernando Miñarro Mena's work combines painting and sculpture as metaphors for self-organization and the transformation of matter. Each piece acts as an organism in dynamic equilibrium, where the visible emerges from the invisible. Its architectural abstraction reveals a latent order in chaos, evoking the idea that “the form is not in the parts, but in the relationship that unites them” (Ludwig von Bertalanffy, 1968).
