José Fernando Luna presents San Francisco in brushstrokes at the Hospital Church of San Pedro Mártir de Verona. The artist, with a career spanning more than 40 years in the world of painting, presents his new exhibition titled San Francisco in brushstrokes, a show composed of 30 works dedicated to the emblematic neighborhood of San Francisco.

The exhibition, organized by the Department of Culture and Gestel, will take place at the Hospital Church of San Pedro Mártir de Verona, with an inauguration on April 9, 2026 at 6:00 p.m.

Self-taught, though having attended the Luján Pérez School and various art academies, José Fernando Luna has developed his own style focused mainly on landscapes and portraits. Throughout his career, he has participated in numerous competitions and exhibitions, notably winning first prize in 2011 in a competition organized by the Vega de San Mateo City Council. Among his most unique works is the creation, in 1985, of the model for the General Urban Planning Plan of Telde, a technical and artistic work of great relevance. In 2025, the artist was part of the collective exhibition of Esmutarte, where he presented eight paintings of Telde landscapes. The current exhibition is a continuation of that experience, which the author himself considered incomplete, now focusing his gaze on the San Francisco neighborhood. With this series, José Fernando Luna begins a pictorial journey through the different neighborhoods of Telde, leaving the door open for future exhibitions that will complete this artistic project.
