Opening – Exhibition «Traditional Garments of Gran Canaria» at the Agüimes Auditorium Theater, Gran Canaria.

The Agüimes Auditorium Theater hosts the exhibition ‘The Traditional Garments of Gran Canaria during the 18th and 19th Centuries’, a project promoted by the Entre Amigos Cultural Association and sponsored by the Cabildo de Gran Canaria and the Fund for Ethnography and the Development of Canarian Crafts (FEDAC).

The exhibition, which can be visited until December 20, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, will hold its inaugural event this afternoon, starting at 6:00 PM, which will feature the participation of the folk groups Argones and La Villa, who will accompany a proposal that combines culture, identity, and historical memory of the island.

From the Entre Amigos Cultural Association, they highlight that this exhibition is the result of extensive documentation and research work on traditional Gran Canarian clothing, as well as the effort of women and men from the Jinámar neighborhood, who crafted the pieces now on display over 30 months.
