Conference – «Surca» for women's equality at the Casa de la Cultura in Villa de Moya, Gran Canaria.

The Villa de Moya celebrates ten years of SURCA, the Interdisciplinary Forum for Women's Equality in Rural Areas, a forum that fights and navigates towards real and effective equality between men and women in contexts such as rural areas. A project that has been navigating and engaging different branches of society, reaching the classrooms of high schools and schools through Educo-SURCA, and going a step further in the training of all students' families. This is how it has engaged and continues to engage all areas of society, navigating to demonstrate that the image of rural women is more open with greater integration and perspective in current society than the conception many have of them.

WEDNESDAY 19

• 17:00 h. Ten years, ten ideas to keep navigating, by Mr. Ramón Barrera Morales, Law graduate, coaching expert, university specialist in Marketing and postgraduate in Project Design and Management. Experience as a trainer linked to personal and professional competencies: communication, creativity, leadership, teamwork. Aimed at the general public. Casa de la Cultura.

• 18:30 h. Book presentation Women of Salt, Men of Smoke. Based on the documentary screened at the Casa de la Cultura in the VI edition of Surca. The book delves into the emotional and economic aftermath faced by women after the Canarian emigration to Cuba, by Ms. Iris Carballo Déniz. Aimed at the general public. Casa de la Cultura.

THURSDAY 20

• 09:30 h. Performance by the students of IES Doramas.
  Video summary screening Ten Years Sailing.
  Institutional Act and presentation of the Surca Villa de Moya 2025 Awards. Aimed at the general public. House of Culture.

• 11:00 h. Coffee Break.

• 11:30 a.m. Intervention by the IES Doramas Equality Commission moderated by Mr. Moisés Oliva González, sexologist and social educator. Expert in Comprehensive Sexual Education and Equality, with experience in the development of educational projects and the creation of didactic materials.

• 12:30 h. La Mudá: Navigating Relationship Dynamics in Couple Contexts by Ms. Irene Rodríguez Martín, social worker, sexologist, and therapist. She has participated in the CON/SENTIDO program as a technician and trainer. Specialist in accompanying, mainly women, working for the recognition of rights, providing care in situations of sexist violence, as well as the development of sexualities from a plural and diverse perspective. Aimed at the general public and students of IES Doramas. House of Culture.

FRIDAY 21

• 09:00 h. Reception and delivery of access credentials for the presentations. Casa de la Cultura.

• 09:30 h. How to face adolescence with a perspective based on egalitarian gender values by Ms. Yasmina Acevedo González, Early Childhood Educator and Social Integrator, with training in positive discipline for families and students. She is a mother of two teenagers, an experience she considers one of the greatest sources of learning and evolution. Aimed at the general public and students of IES Doramas. House of Culture.

• 10:30 h. Learning to care, the essential TOGETHER by don Antonio Rodríguez Hernández, full professor of Educational Psychology at the University of La Laguna, Founding member and president of the Spanish Association for Creativity (ASOCREA) in the period 2005-2011. Technical director of a multitude of social action and training projects applying socio-affective and creative axes to topics of high social concern. Aimed at the general public and students of IES Doramas. House of Culture.

• 12:00 h. The trauma of patriarchy and the purple thread of feminism by Ms. Paula Marín. Degree in Psychology with a clinical itinerary, cognitive-behavioral orientation, Master in behavior therapy and personality disorders. Master in clinical sexology and sexual therapy.   • Hypopressive Gymnastics and Pelvic Floor. Taught by Ms. Itahisa Mederos, yoga teacher.

  • Theater Workshop: Gazes. Taught by Ms. Yanara Moreno, actress, director and theater teacher.

  • Fabric Painting Workshop. Taught by Ms. Raquel Martín, artisan from Mar de Libélulas.

  • Movement in Feminine Workshop. Taught by Ms. Eli Bermudo, Mindfulness therapist.

• 13:15 h. The music that lives within her. Performance by the Cumbres y Costas Musical Group of Villa de Moya. Aimed at the general public. Tomás Morales Museum Square.

• 2:00 p.m. Lunch – Coexistence for attendees of the workshops held during the morning. Pico Lomito Park Municipal Amphitheater.

• 15:30 h. Musical performance Mujeres D. It is not just a musical show, it is a movement that seeks to inspire new generations to believe in themselves and to pursue their dreams without limits. With their contagious energy and positive message, this is how we bid farewell to the edition Journey 2025, 10 Years Journeying. Aimed at the general public. Municipal amphitheater of Pico Lomito Park.
