Film – Preview «𝑳𝒂 𝑳𝒖𝒄𝒉𝒂» in Gran Canaria
Canarian culture shines again on the big screen.
Next January 30, the film 𝑳𝒂 𝑳𝒖𝒄𝒉𝒂, directed by Canarian filmmaker José Alayón, premieres in theaters throughout the archipelago.
Starring real figures of Canarian wrestling —Tomasín Padrón, Inés Cano, Yazmina Estupiñán— the film tells a story of grief, family bond, and resilience in the aridity of Fuerteventura, with this traditional sport as a refuge and emotional driver.
After its run at international festivals such as San Sebastián, São Paulo, Toulouse, Vancouver, and Thessaloniki, the film has accumulated awards and mentions, consolidating itself as one of the most outstanding Canarian productions of the year.
An intimate and collective story about identity, strength, and tradition.
A deep look into the soul of the Canary Islands.
A film that honors our wrestlers and our culture.

«𝑳𝒂 𝑳𝒖𝒄𝒉𝒂 is a tribute to one of the few spaces of identity resistance in the archipelago. It is an expression of strength but also of kindness, of competition and of friendship. It is a world that encompasses more than what the viewer sees, and that is why we wanted to delve with the camera into the deepest parts of the characters, seeking to describe in images a set of feelings that cannot be expressed with words,” José Alayón.
