Next January 30, the film 𝑳𝒂 𝑳𝒖𝒄𝒉𝒂, directed by Canarian filmmaker José Alayón, premieres in theaters throughout the archipelago.

Starring real figures of Canarian wrestling —Tomasín Padrón, Inés Cano, Yazmina Estupiñán— the film tells a story of grief, family bond, and resilience in the aridity of Fuerteventura, with this traditional sport as a refuge and emotional driver.

After its run at international festivals such as San Sebastián, São Paulo, Toulouse, Vancouver, and Thessaloniki, the film has accumulated awards and mentions, consolidating itself as one of the most outstanding Canarian productions of the year.

Synopsis:
On the arid island of Fuerteventura, Miguel and his daughter Mariana try to move forward after the death of his wife, a loss that has left them adrift. Canarian wrestling is their refuge, their way of making a place for themselves in the world. But Miguel's body begins to fail, and Mariana's rage pushes her to defy the rules. With the championship final approaching, father and daughter seek to reconnect before it's too late.
