Presentation — "diagnostic Study of the older population"
Forum for the Presentation of the Diagnostic Study of the elderly population in the Sociocultural Center of San Mateo, Gran Canaria.
La Vega de San Mateo will hold a Forum on March 24 at 10:00 AM in the Sociocultural Center for the presentation of the diagnostic study of the municipality's elderly population.
The Department for the Elderly, led by Deputy Mayor José Déniz, invites all elderly residents of the municipality and professionals linked to this sector to participate in this open meeting, which will include a presentation of conclusions, participatory working groups, and breakfast for registered attendees.
This diagnostic study was commissioned by the Department approximately one year ago, and over several months, extensive fieldwork was carried out, including meetings with residents, interviews, and analysis of various areas affecting the reality of the municipality's elderly population. Among other aspects, the study has analyzed: the sociodemographic context of San Mateo, the economic characteristics of the municipality and its elderly population, health care and promotion with improvement proposals focused on older adults, social inclusion alternatives and vulnerability situations with lines of action, urban planning and public spaces with a focus on making them more friendly and accessible, and housing and social participation of older adults.
The diagnosis has been prepared in collaboration with the Lidia García Foundation, and will provide, for the first time, a detailed snapshot of the reality of the elderly population in the municipality.
