Presentation – Book: Permanent Crimes
Presentation of the book «Permanent Crimes», by Víctor M. Bello Jiménez at the Municipal Library of Santa Brígida, Gran Canaria.
The work invites reflection on the importance and meaning of personal identity, posing a key question to the reader: who do you resemble when you look in the mirror? Through an introspective and literary narrative, Permanent Crimes invites the reader to confront the most persistent areas of memory and consciousness.
Bello Jiménez has a literary career that spans fiction, historical novels, and essays. He is the author of works such as Corsarism and Atlantic Defense y On the Shore of the Empire, focused on the historical and Atlantic sphere, as well as narrative titles such as The Old Sailor, a brief story marked by emigration and the memory of the sea. He has also tackled historical novels in A Dream of Others: Life of Inés Peraza, Lady of the Canary Islands, in addition to participating in various academic works and collaborative studies on the history of the Canary Islands, among them The Shipwrecked History. This thematic and register variety is equally reflected in Permanent Crimes, where reflection, identity, and literary gaze converge.
The presentation is open to the public.
