Book Presentation «Flying to where I don't know» by Yolanda Guerra Sánchez at Café D’Espacio, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

Friday, March 6, 2026 at 7:30 p.m. This Friday the 6th, we welcome Yolanda Guerra Sánchez to Café d’Espacio, who comes to present her novel Flying to where I don't know.

SYNOPSIS: Life takes us, unknowingly, along unexpected paths. In the last stage of her life, the protagonist of this book decides to return to Gran Canaria, the island where she was born. The days she spends in a very emblematic place, the Convent of the Dominicans of Teror, witness her reconciliation with her biography. Clara needed to make her own way, the master of error guided her, friendships sustained her, listening to intuition guided her, illness brought her back to herself, fearful death became her friend. Everything led her to a path of freedom and peace that, regardless of the country where we were born, is the horizon or compass of any human being. Clara feels like a pilgrim and a student of life. The setting of a century-old convent gave rise to so many experiences that in some way defined and marked part of her journey. Little by little, she has integrated her past, accepted her present, to embrace her future with serenity. She discovers that the path of accepting what happens to her is nourished by silencing her expectations; this gives her the opportunity to navigate her adulthood without losing the enthusiasm of childhood. Clara's life slowly transforms, in the same way that a caterpillar turns into a butterfly, everything needs its time. Hopefully, reading this book will leave you wanting to inhabit your chrysalis, to take care of your wings and repair them, if necessary, without fear of taking flight. In this way, wherever we are, in the everyday of each day, we can continue flying to where we don't know.
