‘AFORTUNADAS’ is a comedy with music, of contemporary dramaturgy for four performers that is set at the beginning of the 17th century at a crucial moment: the expulsion of the Moriscos from Spain. The play seeks to reflect sociopolitical issues of our present in the mirror of the past. The thrilling plot brings together in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria four characters of different origins and disguised identities who, over the course of three days, must resolve a double plot concerning a coded book and a report that will decide the fate of the Moriscos in the islands. Love will be the unexpected event that puts each of them at risk and, perhaps, saves them all.
