Theater – Trapped
Theater «Trapped» by the Antígona Group of ONCE at the Guiniguada Theater, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
SYNOPSIS
What happens when, at the company dinner, employees are forced to share an enclosed space from which they cannot leave? In TRAPPED, the characters face not only physical confinement but also their own fears and secrets. Between comical situations and moments of tension, they will discover that, sometimes, the true prison is within ourselves. A human, fun, and exciting story that will make us reflect on how we relate to others.
WHO WE ARE
We are Antígona, a theater company born within ONCE. Our cast is made up of blind actors and actresses or those with severe visual impairment.
For us, theater is not just acting; it's a way to show that art has no barriers. We have been taking to the stage for years to move, entertain, and connect with the audience.
Our difference? Our advantage.
They often ask us if not seeing is a problem for acting. We respond that it is our greatest strength.
- Total listening: By not depending on sight, we develop a capacity for listening and attention to our colleagues that is superior to the usual. In theater, listening to each other is the most important thing.
- Sensitivity: We transmit emotions from a very deep place, without visual distractions, connecting directly with the heart of the spectator.
- Overcoming: Each performance is an example that, with work and passion, any limit disappears.
