Family Theater – «The Girl 104» at the Cultural Center of Santa Brígida, Gran Canaria.

The Santa Brígida City Council invites citizens to enjoy the show The Girl 104, by the Navarrese company Yarleku Teatro, which will be performed next March 21, at 6:00 p.m., at the Cultural Center of La Viñña. It is a family theater proposal, aimed at audiences aged 5 and over, with free admission. .

The Girl 104 is a story of friendship between two orphaned girls, set against the backdrop of child labor exploitation, as well as the importance of mutual support and the value of creativity to face difficult situations. The play takes place in an orphanage where the protagonist, girl 104, dreams of being adopted. Like the other residents, she spends her days sewing and making clothes, convinced that hard work will facilitate her future. The routine is broken with the arrival of a new companion who does not share that enthusiasm for work, which will lead to a relationship that questions the imposed norms.

The show is directed by Jokin Oregi and features performances by Eva Azpilikueta and Laura Villanueva, who interact on stage combining acting and object manipulation, which allows them to address delicate topics with sensitivity and from a more poetic point of view.

For Yarleku Teatro, the orphanage functions as a metaphor for the creation of social patterns. The play raises the possibility of pursuing one's own or a shared dream outside of pre-established canons.

With The Girl 104, Santa Brígida hosts a scenic proposal that combines emotion, visual poetry, and reflection, bringing complex themes closer to the youngest audience from an accessible and deeply human perspective.

The production is part of the program designed by the Department of Culture, directed by Avelina Fernández Manrique de Lara, for the month of March.
