Theater — «Don Friolera's Horns»
Theater — Don Friolera's Horns at the Pérez Galdós Theater, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
Don Friolera, a military man extremely concerned with reputation and discipline, enters a spiral of madness upon receiving an anonymous text with unfounded information about his wife, Doña Loreta, and her supposed lover, the barber Pachequín. This work by Ramón María del Valle-Inclán, written a hundred years ago as part of the trilogy ‘Martes de Carnaval’, is a dramaturgical and aesthetic milestone of the 20th century that is now staged under the direction of Ainhoa Amestoy after its national tour success. The production transitions from Greek rhapsodes to puppet theater, using 'esperpento' to reflect on honor, jealousy, and social reality. With an approximate duration of 125 minutes without intermission, the performance offers a critical and transgressive vision that connects with current sensibilities.
Performance not intended for children.
