Year 2014. The family of Yaryna is forced to leave their home in Ukraine and embark on a long journey towards Stockholm, in search of a safe place to rebuild their life. After months of waiting, they appear before a Swedish official who will decide their future. That same day, Yaryna falls into a deep sleep: the resignation syndrome, a little-known condition that affects children after extreme situations, a disconnection from the world as a response to fear and uncertainty.
Through Yaryna's voice, we accompany her family in their daily life: her sister saves to buy her a bicycle, her parents maintain hope, and life continues amidst simple gestures and silences filled with love.
Seven years later, Yaryna, now a teenager, decides to write a diary about that experience, while her country faces war again. My Winter Dream is a moving story about tenderness, family resilience, and the ability to build a future through care, even amidst fragility.
