Talk – Creative Mornings January
Creative Mornings January Talk at Mata Castle, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
Our January theme is کورسو (cur-sú). It was chosen by our Tehran chapter, in Iran, and illustrated by Hoda Ramy.

Every month, a different CreativeMornings chapter chooses a theme for our talks, which are given in cities around the world. This year, many of our monthly themes will be given in the local language of that chapter.
We hope this gives each theme a deeper meaning and promotes more significant connections with other communities and cultures.
کورسوo Kursú (pronounced cur-sú) is a Farsi word meaning “ray of hope.”
Regarding the importance of this word, our Tehran chapter says the following:
“In our darkest moments, when all seems lost, sometimes a light remains: it is not a bright or very clear light, but it is there. That light is kursú. A small glimmer of hope that resists and does not give up.
Kursú is not success or clarity. On the contrary, it is that fragile but imperturbable light that helps us move forward. A glance, a memory, a word. Those small details that prevent everything from collapsing. Kursú is the silent resistance of those who keep going despite difficulties, of those who have faith despite uncertainty. In a world where hopelessness is often commonplace, Kursú is a symbol of rebellion, silent but profound—It reminds us that even the smallest spark can make a difference.”
Now that a new year is about to begin, ask yourself: “What things give me hope right now?”
That this small light continues to shine depends on each of us. Let's protect and value it. But let's be careful not to extinguish it. Let's share our kursú with the people around us. Because the world needs all possible rays of hope.
