Cosco Colectivo presents: PRIMO (emo folk, Málaga) & FAJARDO (folk core majorero) at La Juntadera.
PRIMO is the pseudonym chosen by Naz Aparicio (Shonen bat, Have fun) for his solo acoustic project; but let's not let polysemy lead us astray. Primo's lyrics are not at all naive, nor will we find candid innocence in his themes. Rather, if we are to prejudge, let's do so by remembering that relative who, due to their distance and at the same time immediacy, presents themselves to our infant self as an external reference, a first door to feelings that not even our closest environment is capable of bringing to the surface.
An indefatigable creator with three albums, a split with Anime rooms, and two recent EPs that are an absolute gem behind him («Arder» in 2019 and «Seis canciones» in 2018), Primo's music conveys intimacy, warmth, and a tenderness that is sometimes abrupt and raw, sometimes precious... but above all, it overflows with talent, poetry, and truth from all sides. His songs embrace you, imprint themselves, and manifest within you without you seeing it coming. For an immense minority, there are Primo songs that have already become part of our lives.
FAJARDO has developed a diction and a (lack of) control over his own voice beyond all comparative reach. The Majorero has put everything aside and is capable of seizing his own body, of placing words at the service of songs that pursue truth everywhere. From viscerality to the deepest delicacy, Fajardo's voice adorns his own compositional style beautifully and necessarily. Like a channel for a stream, the pieces live from other complementary halves. These tables apply equally to the compositional coinage, with a metric flow that is as precise as it is natural, and structures in which he shows and hides as the discourse demands. Tension and sweetness, suspense and repose in songs as harmonically complex as they are simple for the listener's perception (a difficult undertaking). Although, while measure and austerity may serve as a formal prelude, getting to the content is another matter... There, a whole patina of emotions shines through. A rainbow that redeems solemnity, which spreads from sincerity and which, little by little, forms essential aesthetic forms.
The steps he began to take around 2009 have led him to all kinds of stages within and outside state borders. From self-managed spaces, bookstores, theaters, and venues; to renowned festivals such as Womad, A Tant Rêver Du Roi, Boreal, Monkey Week; passing through small incursions to other latitudes (Havana, Germany, Scotland, United Kingdom).
