Simonelli is a duo formed by Aleksandra Tonelli (Argentina, piano) and Simone van der Weerden (Netherlands, bandoneon), based in Rotterdam.
Their proposal covers Argentine music from classical to contemporary tango, and also incorporates folklore and original compositions.
Their repertoire brings together Gardel, Troilo, Piazzolla, Ginastera, Leguizamón, and Ramirez, along with their own compositions that explore new sounds at the intersection of tango, jazz, and academic music, offering an experience that links Argentine roots with an international perspective.
