Dance — «Retama Volume 11» at the Guiniguada Theater, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
The contemporary dance cycle Retama reaches its volume 11 for this year 2026. In this session, the audience will be able to enjoy four dance pieces: a new encounter with the diversity of scenic languages, under the artistic direction of Natalia Medina, and within the Guiniguada en danza series. The program includes the following works:
‘RENAISSANCE’ (14’): by creators Violeta Vargas and Menchu Vargas, is a reflection on the vertigo of modern life and the fragility hidden by the constant need for adaptation.
‘A STEP BACK’ (15’): created and performed by Miguel Zomas. A personal drama and external parody about the difficulty of listening to oneself in the face of external currents.
‘RETURN WITHOUT RETURN’ (12’): by creator and performer Emiliana Battista Marino. A return to the root of being and a tribute to the strength that flows from the ground towards us.
‘SIMULACRUM’ (13’): by Toni Aguilera, a piece that mixes humor, theater, and dance in surreal scenes about life.
The show has an approximate duration of 70 minutes and is recommended for all audiences.
