Inauguration — Tribute to Manolo Millares. Revisiting the fabric of Canarian art, in search of its roots at the Castillo de la Luz, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

Last February 17, 2026, marked the first centenary of Manolo Millares' birth. Given his involvement with our founder, Martín Chirino, in their long-standing friendship and mutual admiration, it is the intention of the Martín Chirino Art and Thought Foundation to display a small exhibition throughout the centenary year as a symbol of tribute to the artist.

Next March 12, we will celebrate a major day of tribute, with the inauguration of the exhibition of his work at the Castillo de la Luz, a lecture by expert Alfonso de la Torre, and the screening of an experimental documentary made by Manolo Millares and Elvireta Escobio in 1970.
