Conferences — «Bridge to Africa» and the IV International Congress of Young Researchers on Africa at Casa África and ULPGC, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
Coinciding with International Africa Day (May 25), the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria opens a new edition of Bridge to Africa, a strategic initiative that aims to consolidate in the Canary Islands an academic hub international between Europe and Africa.
Led by the two public universities in the Canary Islands —the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and the University of La Laguna— BtÁ has the support of the Government of the Canary Islands, the Cabildo of Gran Canaria, and Casa África, as well as institutions, companies, and educational centers for training, research, and international cooperation with West Africa.
In its second edition, Bridge to Africa brings together institutional leaders, researchers, international experts, companies, and organizations to reflect on the main challenges and opportunities for cooperation between the two continents.
During the week, the event will host keynote lectures, institutional and business roundtables, technical expert sessions, and the IV International Congress of Young Researchers on Africa.
The program will address some of the key areas for shared development between the Canary Islands and Africa, such as the environment and energy transition; health and health cooperation; education, research and cooperation; sustainable economy and innovation; and African culture, society and geopolitics.
