Conferences — For a rebellion in tourism in El Soco – Participa Gran Canaria, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
EspacioGuía launches the conferences on Active-Cultural Tourism (TAC) from March 3 to 6, 2026, with the support of LPGC 2031. This meeting is presented as a space for reflection and dialogue to seek solutions from the cultural sphere in the face of the current tourism model. The event will take place in El Soco, headquarters of Participa Gran Canaria in the former premises of Cuasquías.
Through various sessions, specialists in cultural management and mediation, economics, art, communication, architecture, philosophy, and research from ULPGC will participate. The initiative seeks to promote tourism that adds and does not subtract, free from touristification, betting on sustainable experiences and a deep knowledge of the land and its inhabitants. The objective is to generate a shift in stereotypical narratives to curb mass tourism for the mutual benefit of visitors and residents. Organized by EspacioGuía with the collaboration of the City Council of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Participa Gran Canaria.
