Literature – «X Artebirgua Literary Festival»

26 June @ 18:30 - 23:30

Literature — X Artebirgua Literary Festival in Juncalillo, Gáldar, Gran Canaria.

Poetry and literature come to life and resist in the mountains of Gran Canaria at the hand of the Artebirgua Literary festival, which is now in its tenth uninterrupted edition. This new installment is celebrated from June 20 to 28 in the town of Juncalillo, Gáldar, under the motto "Artes en la Cumbre" (Arts on the Summit) and brings together 70 personalities from the cultural, academic, social, and political spheres of the Canary Islands and the rest of Spain.

The festival decentralizes culture and brings together the seven islands in Juncalillo de Gáldar for the first time, achieving the historic milestone of uniting the rectors of the two Canary Islands universities. What began a decade ago as a humble project financed by the personal funds of Manuel Díaz, one of its founders, has today become an unmissable event and a bastion of resistance against the so-called "emptied Canary Islands.".
