Book Presentation ‘500 years since the founding of the Parish of Santa Brígida ‘ at the Parish Church of Santa Brígida, Gran Canaria.
A work that compiles half a millennium of history, culture, and evolution of one of the most emblematic temples of Gran Canaria.
The book, prepared by historians Pedro C. Quintana Andrés, Argelia Camino Pérez, and the official chronicler of Santa Brígida Pedro Socorro Santana, offers an exhaustive investigation that covers from the origins of the old hermitage founded in the 16th century to its role as a social, religious, and patrimonial core of the municipality.
The event is organized by the Diocese of Canarias and the City Council of Santa Brígida, and will feature the presence of the authors, institutional officials, and representatives of the parish community. During the presentation, the main findings of the work will be addressed, as well as the historical value of the temple within the framework of the V Centenary of the parish.
The publication is part of the extensive program designed by the Department of Culture to celebrate these 500 years, which includes conferences, concerts, exhibitions, and activities.
