Talk – «Latitude 28 and the anti-Franco cultural struggle» at the Franchy Roca Center, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

Next Wednesday, December 17, at 7:00 PM, the Franchy Roca Center in Las Palmas de G.C. will host an open debate on one of the most interesting, and controversial, experiences of the anti-Franco struggle in the Canary Islands. The collective «Latitude 28», which emerged in the 60s, merged culture with political action in a context of harsh repression and ended up starring in the famous episode of the fall in Sardina del Norte. What assessment can be made of that experience? Was it marked by an «adventurous» line or was it consistent with the purpose of bringing the anti-Franco struggle to the surface? What lessons does «Latitude 28» leave today? These and other questions will be addressed in a meeting that aims to debate pending issues for almost 60 years
