The famine unleashed by the shortage and high cost of provisions in Arucas at the beginning of the century
XIX, led to an uprising in the neighborhoods of El Tabaibal, La Goleta, and El Cerrillo, joined by
the residents of Firgas. This detailed investigation recounts the vicissitudes and events that
are reflected in the preserved archives
