Presentation and talk — ISLAS Project in Maspalomas, San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Gran Canaria.

An intimate encounter with Cuban photographer Julio César García Martínez, Matanzas, Cuba, 1985. Exclusive here in Maspalomas.

He presents his ISLAS project, a documentary series about today's Cuba. More than an exhibition, it will be a close conversation. A space to listen, ask questions, and connect directly with the creative process, experiences, and the vision behind each image.

A unique opportunity to access a complex reality through the eyes of someone who lives it and transforms it into art.

About his career: director and organizer of the international photography festival Fotocanímar in Matanzas, Cuba. His work has been exhibited at 19. Noviembre Fotográfico, Havana, 2025; ArteFoto Brasil; 14. Havana Biennial, 2021; and Soho Photo Gallery, New York.

He has received awards such as the 2nd Prize – IPA Awards 2022, USA; and the National Award for Digital Art Project, Centro Pablo de la Torriente Brau, Havana, 2010.
