Hiking – Bandama Caldera + Volunteering

22 November, 2025 @ 08:00 - 15:30

Interpreted hike through the Bandama Caldera + Environmental Volunteering, Santa Brígida, Gran Canaria.

Would you like to descend to the heart of the Bandama Caldera and discover one of the most unique volcanic landscapes on the island of Gran Canaria? Inside, a unique biodiversity is preserved that needs protection against the advance of invasive exotic species (flora).

We invite you to participate in a day of environmental action and awareness in the Bandama Caldera, located between the municipalities of Villa de Santa Brígida and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. We will carry out an interpreted trail to the bottom of the Caldera and an environmental volunteering action for the removal of “Rabo de gato” (Pennisetum setaceum), an invasive exotic species that threatens the native flora of this natural area. In addition, we will learn about geological and ecological curiosities, learn to identify local species, and see how small collective actions can make a big difference in environmental conservation.

Join the change and experience a unique day!

Free advance registration at this link.

Saturday, November 22from 08:00 to 15:30 hours. Includes transfer (bus, round-trip collective transport) from the meeting point to the starting point of the activity.

Meeting point: bus stop of the Fuente Luminosa (Plaza Fuero Real de Gran Canaria), in the municipality of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
