Workshop – Decolonial Red

Workshop prior to the performance ‘Decolonial Red’ at the Casa de Colón, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

As a development and transformation of the piece Decolonial Red —activated in museum spaces such as the CAAM, the Thyssen-Bornemisza in Madrid and the National Museum of Anthropology of Mexico City— the action expands into a collective performance at the Casa de Colón. The intervention gathers the history of this insect through the voices of the current protagonists of this cultivation in indigenous communities of Oaxaca, Mexico and on the islands of Lanzarote and Gran Canaria (in Spanish and in Zapotec, an indigenous language).
