Talk — «Illustrious Figures of the Canary Islands: Martín Moreno»
Talk — Illustrious Personalities of the Canary Islands: Martín Moreno at the Agáldar Museum of City History, Gáldar, Gran Canaria.
The Agáldar Museum of City History inaugurates a new edition of the conference series Illustrious Personalities of the Canary Islands, given by Antonio María González Padrón. Following the success of previous series dedicated to the queens of Spain, the chronicler of Telde returns to the museum to introduce us this year to some of the most outstanding figures in the history and culture of the Canary Islands, through four meetings to be held between March and June.
Conference Program:
• March 18: Juan Borges Linares, sculptor from Gáldar and Favorite Son of Gáldar. This conference is also part of the Virgen de la Vega Week, highlighting the figure of one of the municipality's great artists.
• April 15: Fernando and Juan León y Castillo, two fundamental brothers in the history of the Canary Islands, promoters of important political, social, and infrastructure transformations in the islands.
• May 13: Martín Moreno, historian from Gáldar and official chronicler of his native city and island, who dedicated his life to the study and dissemination of the past of his city and the Canary Islands.
• June 17: Gregorio Chill, a key doctor and researcher in the study and recovery of the archipelago's aboriginal past.
A series that invites to discover and rediscover those who have marked the history of our islands, from art and culture to science and research.
